1998 upset over mighty Nebraska was one of the greatest days and games in Aggie football history.
First maroon out and stopped Nebraska national winning streak.

You can see the construction in the South endzone where they had torn down the horseshoe and started The Zone.

There were people on the construction floors watching the game. Good times.

I'm getting senile already. Yeah, I forgot they closed it after the 97 season. Anyhow, I remember going through it pretty well.
Come on Mouth...I was one of your fish and remember going through it my fish year '97-'98 season. They took it down around Final Review that year and I've still got a few pieces from it.

Funny enough, it was still one of the loudest games I've ever been to at Kyle. And that's with both ends open. Of course we didn't have phones to bury our heads in, so that certainly helped.

Being in the horseshoe in front of the head Yell Leader was where we usually tried to be so we could get a good view of all the festivities. I remember some with the entire first deck completely full and the stragglers up on 2nd deck. I was there for the '88-'92 seasons and they are some great memories.

Spent my entire Fish year in the old horseshoe in 1966! Old Army. Cannot remember if we EVER got to kiss our dates that year!

That pic is from circa '92, just FYI.

Note the scoreboard. There was a scoreboard in the south end zone but not like that. Late 80's or 90's probably

Class of 2001 entered through the tunnel under the horseshoe fish year. It was my sophomore year when the construction began and we started coming in the stadium from the south.

1997 game vs t.u., last Aggie football game with the horseshoe
