Reasons for leaving:
1) Relationship with Woodward (which is pretty weak if it is the only reason).

Reasons for staying:
1) A coaching contract that will not be topped
2) First year is in hindsight, which is typically the most strenuous in terms of implementing your vision and culture. Also getting used to the new environment.
3) Tons of current momentum for the program: Foundation has been built. Everybody can see it.
4) Location in the most fertile recruiting state in the nation.
5) Near-unlimited resources.
6) Has complete support from the administration down to the fans.

So tell me again why people are freaking out? Does he really want to go somewhere else and start over again?

Add this to the list and it is a big one: Jimbo's son has an incurable blood disorder. Bator Rogue is one of the most polluted cities in the country -- not good for anyone with a chronic disease. Moreover, while they have some good medical facilities over there (specially Tulane and Oschner in New Orleans) for Jimbo's son's issue, they have nothing over there that compares to Texas Children's Hospital. TCH has the nation's largest pediatric hematology clinic, and his has a satellite hospital just an hours drive away. Having that kind of world class medical facility close by would be important to me if I were Jimbo and in his situation.

no one in their right mind freely chooses to go to Baton Rouge...
can LSU rich enough to double jimbo salary? no? he ain't going...

if you are making $7.5 million tax-free( state), a bump of 1$ million is not enough to move to LA
