First: I agree with chemnerd. Scalia and Hogg were my undergraduate faculty advisors and had an out of proportion influence.

William Rundell was the most impactful largely through the influence of the extremely bright math majors he trained for the Putnam one semester and who allowed me to join them in a special study course. I also took ode, pde, and the senior Algebra class from him and he helped me gain a much better approach to especially approximation via series of real-world functions.

That's TEACHING and he is his own Center of Excellence at it.

Dr. Cralle

He embodied the Aggie spirit and even played the War Hymn during exams

Edit to expand:

He was kind of a crack pot at first, but he was genuinely funny and had pretty interesting lectures--even on things as boring and mundane as soil crop sciences. I truly enjoyed his class and I was motivated to do well in his class.

Biggest thing I took from him is that genius can be kind of weird yet exciting and those people that come off a bit out there are often the folks who move mountains and achieve great things.

Also Craig Rotter

The guy was extremely genuine and took ample time aside to help any student that asked for his assistance. I took 24 hours one semester and he made it a point to let me know far in advance what I would need to do to complete projects early in his class to ensure my success with the heavy workload. He even introduced me to some of his graduate students when I was starting a company so that I could make connections and possible sales through his piece of the Aggie Network.

He taught me to be genuinely interested in people's back story and where they came from--it goes a long way toward leadership and understanding of the people you are influencing around you.

Warren Rose, Phd. - '79 BANA Dept. Head and chaired my committee.

Teaching method - 600 level graduate class in logistics. Lectured one time (1st class). Picked next class's subject at the end of his lecture and thereafter for every lecture period. On the day of the class, he picked a student to teach it. He didn't lecture again. Also warned us that one wasn't safe from being selected two or three consecutive classes. I and one other was chosen to teach two periods in a row. I've never worked so hard to be prepared for every class in all my academic career. Awesome technique IMHO.
Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and myself founded empires; but upon what foundation did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force! But Jesus Christ founded His upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him. - Napoleon Bonaparte

Dr Millford knew all three hundred people in his Soil Science course by the end of week one, and I never saw anyone greet him that he couldn't call by name.

He had a passion for his work that he shared with all of his students. Great teacher and a great person.
