They won both games. To say Mond wasn't clutch when it ultimately counted is just foolish. Was it fortunate that Mond's knee was down, yes but what he did after that moment was clutch.gig_this said:NickEZ08 said:
Both have come up huge in clutch moments but also have inexplicably propensity to turn the ball over..
Clutch? As in Mond's best play in his last game was screwing up by kneeling down to pick up a snap (which he never should have dropped)? That was clutch.
Or Dak. At the end of the first half today throwing a ball behind an open receiver, that had he caught it, they would have run out the half. But it's dropped and they get a field goal instead of 0? That was clutch.
Or similar in that the wide open receiver is overgrown? Or the best at check downs and screens?

Hate on the dak all you want but he's proven over and over again how clutch he is late in the game. Kellen's got a little bit of that himself

Neither is Jimbo.mjhhawk said:
The QB he reminds me the most of in college actually is Vince Young. Awful as freshmen sharing the job. Numbers ticked up as a sophomore. Now hopefully Mond can take off following a solid off-season and become a special college player. I'm not giving up on him like many have.

It's a good comparison IMO. Both are game managers with below-average accuracy. Neither have "signature" moments of greatness at their current level of competition. Despite a large body of work from which to draw conclusions, when watching both of them I get the nagging feeling that "this is not the guy".
Zeke Elliott is the team's leading receiver. Not hard to complete a pass to a guy that's 5 yards away.Quote:
Dak has a 68.2% completion percentage this year. That is not below average.
