But I thought all of those programs that win all the time never use gimmicky alternatives for uniforms?

But isn't putting the national flag on helmets and forcing it down on people's throats considered very insensitive and offensive?

Purple and yellow is almost as ugly as burnt orange and white...
I like them. Not a fan of purple and gold but if that's what you have, it could be a lot worse than these. I didn't know LSU didn't field a team that year due to the war either. Any Ag ought to respect that.
I also dig the helmet. That may change when I see them on TV, but I think it will look pretty cool.
