Why? he wants to play. He was benched for a true freshman when he is the better player right now. The freshman should have waited his turn. Clemson was losing with the freshman before he got hurt. Oh well, one more spot for SEC in playoffs. Dabo made a dumb decision and is paying for it

This situation was almost pre-ordained when Dabo let Bryant walk. This new RS rule has very unintended consequences like this.

That decision may very well have cost Clemson a chance at the national title, just days after said decision.

if You assume Lawrence is better than Bryant, Dabo did the Bryant kid a favor by making the announcement before Bryant lost a year of eleigibilty. A selfish coach would have played him in the fifth game to make it much harder for Bryant to transfer. Dabo may have been mistaken about promoting Lawrence but was right about the rest of it.

So then he plays today and lawrence ends up being fine and comes back next week. Well then I guess it's oh well for Bryant . I am sure he thinks has a chance to have a future in football. He doesn't want to risk sitting on the bench the last year he has to prove that

Dabo ran his own mouth, not by words, but by his actions (to paraphrase Jimbo). Loyalty goes both ways. Dabo was not loyal to the quarterback who not only was still better than Lawrence, but who had gotten Dabo rather high up the ladder. I don't blame Bryant, not at all.

Dabo did the ethical thing so you have to give him credit for that . I just don't see why he needed to start Lawrence this year. When we played them, Bryant was the better option for this year.

The traitorous mess that is free agency is one of the main reasons I don't watch the NFL. Bring that crap to college football, and I'm just going to move on to hockey. At least you can properly hit people and get into a good fight there.

Agree that declaring Lawrence the starter was not that smart. Could have continued to play both of them, the way Saban has with Tua/Jalen.

Tua is a sophomore, Jalen is a junior, Bryant is a senior. It's not the same situation, because Bryant has one more year and Jalen has two. If Hurts was a Senior this year and Saban did the same thing only to bench Hurts later, then he's as big of a ***** as people say he is.

Dabo did the right thing.

That was terrible all the way around. No reason to do that. Dabo starts 1-1 if Bryant isn't on the team. He messed that up so stinking bad.

Bryant's an idiot and a snowflake. He could have come in the game and "saved the day." Won his job back.

Some of the responses in this thread explains why some players feel entitled today.
