One trend I was hoping would end when Sumlin left was the Double Numbers.

105 kids on the roster, should only have like 5 players who have the numbers as another player.

Looked at the roster and the first 8 all are given to two players. Don't have to finish scrolling to know there are a ton of double numbers.

I guess it really only impacts on the rare play where Kenric McNeal is given temporary credit for Coryell Judie's touchdown return but i guess it is here to stay.

Well they have to fit in the number ranges for designated position groups. I'd speculate we have a disproportionate number in that 105 going to the skill positions.

A&M should be a leader in this space. Replace numbers with emoticons!

this is something that can be 100% blamed on the t-sips. It started with Applewhite and Derrick Johnson both wearing #11

There always seems to be a duplication of the number "12" at TAMU games.

We can solve this by going for the 01, 02, 03 etc. as well as the 1, 2, and 3. Not that I think it's a good idea, I'm just looking for a solution since we are searching for a problem... Still offseason.

There are some rules especially on the offensive line for specific numbers. I don't know if restrictions like that necessarily exhaust the available numbers. But I think most of us do okay at differentiating between O and D players with doubled numbers.

It's a bit more confusing when a player's number changes due to things like jersey getting torn or not available. Right person with wrong number hurts the whole game. Imagine JFF all of the sudden coming on Kyle Field wearing a "3".

not totally a fashion thread because if a player has to change jerseys because he also has Special teams duties in some small way that coukd affect his play on ST
while we are on the topic we need somebody (yes i am too lazy to do it ) to do a compkete 2 deep with numbers I am curious how many on the 2 deep have #s 30-70 i am guessing not that many.

there are some numbers in the 40-70 range that are unused
5 DL players with numbers between 1-9

Double numbers isn't a Sumlin thing. Sherman had them. Jimbo had them. Saban has them. Everyone has them.
