The Rolex GMT II is $24,000. The Tudor is apprx $3k. Unless you are just wanting to wow people with the Rolex accessory on your arm...I gotta think the Tudor is the bang for the buck. Nearly choked at the thought of a $24k watch but I guess if you got it on hand.

Neither. Haven't worn a watch since 1981. Watching the clock is stressful and unproductive. And I'm not into jewelry, except for my Aggie ring

Normative statements are unproductive and make you sound pedantic and judgmental.

I like that Tudor better than that Rolex, but I would probably choose a Datejust or Explorer 1 over that Tudor.

And TAG didn't own Heuer yet when Steve McQueen was wearing that watch.

My Dad's 1952 Rolex Datejust--on an aftermarket bracelet. Purchased at the PX at Camp Bussac, France in 1952 for a grand total of $153! Almost one month's pay for a 2LT at that time ($237.00).

He gave it to me just before he died in a non-running state. I sent it off for a "spa treatment" with a guy in NY City (Rolex won't wouldn't work on one that old). Runs/looks great now. I really like the less "blingy" designs and prize it highly.

hooker made off with my rose gold datejust when i was in vegas a few years ago. true story.

don't let this happen to you.

i had taken my watch off and set it on the bar, next to my phone (this is after a full day at a trade show...i was just more or less sitting down to grab a drink and chill...taking the watch off is sort of like taking shoes off to me). within seconds i heard a girl say something to me to get my attention. i look over and about 10 feet away was a reasonably attractive girl, obviously a pro, walking towards me with a smile. she said a couple sentences and then told me to wait, hang on, and kept looking at me as she walked away...like she would be right back. i turned back to the bar and the bar and the watch was gone, as was my phone. they were literally 3 inches away from my elbow when i was looking at the hooker. when i turned my head back, she has disappeared into the crowd.

i realized that as she walked up, there was another hooker just off of her shoulder who sort of veered away. evidently the hooker who was talking to me was tasked to keep my attention for about 6 seconds and the other one circled around and grabbed my watch and was gone before i had any clue.

but here's where it gets good.

i'm a watch guy, and a friend of mine picked up that watch for me just for grins when he was in china...it was a hell of a good fake. i think he paid something like $120ish? and, earlier that day i had accidentally dealt a death blow on that phone, as it was already cracked. i was planning to order a replacement asap. they went to the effort for nothing.m i am sure that when the hookers tried to hock the watch, they felt like i had totally screwed them over...so that was a win for me. but, i have a few high end watches. i was pretty rocked when i thought about how easily it could have been one of my chopard....

That really went down in your hotel room didn't it? It's okay, we're in the trust tree here!

Just kidding. I bet those stupid hookers were all, "dat muthaf%@#a"! down at the pawn shop!

On another note, remember the shootout at he Bellagio last year or so ago when those idiots tried robbing the Rolex dealer in the casino? I couldn't wrap my head around that one. How do you unload a bunch of watches that are tightly controlled with serial numbers? The new models of Rolex have the serial number under the sapphire crystal on the rehaut as well as between the lugs. Those were some ballsy morons. Wait...morans!
