Easy to see how the timing played out. Jimbo calls Fields, Fields knows Cade, they pm, Cade gets pissed that jimbo calls Justin, decommits. It happens. It's unfortunate but with Starkel showing signs of greatness, I'd be looking for the door too unless I'm Fields quality.

I think I'll go ahead and make my call now, if we land this guy Fisher gets us a Natty in 3 years.

Just found this thread. Can y'all imagine how different our program would be right now if we had somehow found a way to land Justin Fields back when Jimbo showed up? Jimbo's first three years were his best, what if we'd had Fields at QB during those years? Could we have won it all in 2020 with Fields at QB instead of Mond? I know it's pointless to speculate about all this, but it's hard not to...

Totally speculation of course, but I think had Fields come here he wouldn't be the Field's he is now. We don't have a stellar track record of developing players. Just my two cents.
