Was watching a game the other day and they were doing that same inane 3 seconds of rap crap like we do when the visiting offense came up to the line. I noticed that all of the down linemen as well as the OLB all started dancing a little bit, you know, to get their pass rush on. Basically, it telegraphed who was rushing, because nobody with a coverage assignment had any time for dancing. Anyway, it would be a pretty easy way for a QB to see if a DE or OLB is dropping into coverage.

Sumlin probably just assumed the qb would be dancing too and wouldn't notice the D.

I like rap too. Some of it. It's a good way to get mellow and get rid of aggression. Just pointing out that what was merely annoying could actually telegraph plays. My background is baseball, but it looks like coaches study how to steal signs quite a bit - placement of OL feet, gaps between linemen, multiple signals from sideline, coaches covering mouths when speaking, etc.

Rap crap....makes sense.

At least it's not that rock crock, pop slop, or that jazz jizz.
