College football kicks off across the country on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. But ... there are a couple of games the previous Saturday. In past seasons this would be one game featuring FCS schools but this year there are a couple of FBS matchups that will give us a bit of real football. So on Saturday, August 26th we have:

Oregon St will travel to Colorado St for a 1:30 game
Portland St is at BYU at 2
and Rice and Stanford play in Sydney, Australia in a 9pm kickoff game (CST)

So will ya'll be so ready for football that ya'll will watch or are the games just not that interesting? Will NFL preseason be enough until the 2nd or will real games draw you in?

BTW ... 6 weekends left with no football.

SHSU and Richmond will kick things off Sunday, Aug. 27 on ESPNU at 6 p.m. in Huntsville.

Some only watch A&M and some only watch SEC ball and maybe some top 25 type games. Many people may not even know these games are being played on the 26th. Just throwing it out there that there are real games a week earlier than the Sept 2nd kick off weekend.

It'll be interesting to see if BYU getting a game under their belt will help them when they face LSU the following week.

I fully expect the op to start a thread asking what we're all doing for St Patrick's day 2019

I'm sure I'll watch, probably most of Rice/Stanford and some of the others...mostly because it will be nice to see some live games and it's the start of the season.

But, afterward, I'll probably regret having spent my time watching those games.
