Texas is the best when all considered. Economics, weather 360, taxes, cost of living, medical, etc.

I have traveled and had a taste of many places and Texas is my choice. Now, in Texas do your own evaluation. The coast is at grave risks of storms and the summers are not that good. Too hot. All of East TX is off due to humidity and the hot summers.

Hill country is the best and Kerr County, Kerrville has the best tax structure. Horseshoe Bay is nice with the lake but is too remote. Nothing is there and one has to travel far to shop and get top medical attention. Taxes are very high if you have a nice place.

San Antonio like Austin is too hot and other negatives. Traffic is horrible.

This. Seriously, HSB is like 15-20 minutes from the Hill Country Galleria.

For the record, HSB is my vote, too - though I am now seriously considering the Thornton Mellon-suite idea.

I honestly don't know what you're talking about. There is a Scott and White hospital that is less than 15 minutes from the furthest point in Horseshoe Bay. It's at 71/281.

It's hardly "remote" in that I can get on the course at Slick Rock in 44 minutes after leaving my home in SW Austin. Austin, TX. The state capitol. It's 45 miles east of HSB.

I know my HSB history and geography buddy. I'm from there, my grandfather founded it, and I'm named after him so you better STOP SAYING MESS right now!
