What are the best seats in Kyle Field for an alum who wants to participate?

For the TN game 10/8, I'm looking at sections 125, 126, 127 because I want to be near the students with a chance of being able to stand up and participate in the yells. Don't need a lazy boy chair; bench is fine. The West side of the stadium is first class, but so are the prices. 125-127 aren't cheap either, but if I'm going to pay $$ then I might as well have some fun. I also don't want to be sittin' with a bunch of Vols either. I wouldn't mind going up a tier, but don't want the nose bleed. I haven't been back to BCS since 1989 and I want to do this right. Just hoping for some good opinions before I pull the trigger for these unbelievable prices for these tix. Thanks!

If you really want to participate, sit in the Vols section and then be the guy who yells "THAT SPELLS TAMC!" the whole time.

You are going to regret that 20 minutes into the game.

I have season tickets in 239 and can't recommend it highly enough. You're one section over from the 12th Man, so most folks there are still standing/yelling.

Right. I don't want to regret the seats I buy. Maybe there is such a thing as too close. Any recommendations for a good section?

I saw some seats in 240 that looked pretty good. I think there were still a few in 239 too. Thanks!

My extended family has seats all over the stadium so I have experienced the Zone, endowed seats, the new south end zone and... first deck student side. I prefer the first deck student side 100 times more than the other spots bc it is the norm to stand (during play) and be involved over there. You won't be a pariah for doing yells there. Favorite seats in the house by a mile.

Totally agree. Watching the game in some seats is like watching it on TV, but being surrounded by grumpy old men cussing everything. Even though I'm old, I usually sit ( I mean stand) by or in the student section. It is a completely different experience and by far the best experience at any football game any where.

You're telling me! I'll hit the Dixie Chicken where I will try to remember how to play 42. Law Hall is a gonner. I'm sure all the new stuff is great too. I'm pretty pumped!

Not many people playing 42 at the chicken on gameday. And tailgating will be worlds different than 27 years old.

We have seats in 125 down low on row 9 and love them. You're close enough to hear the coaches yell at their players and you can hear the band from there. We stand about 80% as much as the students do and you have good concessions and very good wi-fi (usually). Those seats are brutal during September (and some October) day games though as the sun beats down on you the whole game.

If you're not too concerned about where you exactly sit and are concerned about the money then my advice is to wait to buy your seats the week of the game. If you go the flash seats route you might want to wait until the day of.

I know for last year's South Carolina game great seats were dirt cheap on game day as bad weather was expected (it didn't materialize if I am remembering my game weeks correctly).

We have been in what is now 126 for 15 years and never regretted it. Not sure what I'm supposed to be regretting but they are very good seats. You will stand for most of the game though. If that's what you are looking for, then I say go for it.

I don't recall tailgating at all in the late 70's early 80's. I guess it went on to a small degree but since we always walked to the game from campus (Even when I lived off campus, I would meet up with friends at their dorm). But never ever did I hear anyone say lets go hang out with my folks or friends tailgating they have BBQ and beer! Because I am sure we would have done that and thought it was awesome, BTW No one really tailgated at Oiler or Cowboy games back in the 70's either. I think that was primarily a East coast thing.

If you end up in a quiet section, just stand up and yell the whole time and mock other the people around you when they tell you to sit down.

BTW, great board here! Thank you all. I like what I hear about the energy in 125, 126 and 127. It's been nearly 30 years and I'm going for the full immersion experience! As for the tailgating, that's its own industry now. I'm not even sure I knew the word in the 80s. I will, however, walk through the tailgate area (I've heard the Northside is good) and see if I can make some new friends.

If you're sitting on the east side in 125, 6 or 7 then be sure to check out the Spence Park tailgating right next door.
