Watched a documentary called "Silence Patton" which hinted at the idea that Gen. Patton may have been an assassinated instead of just an unfortunate car accident. Wanted to get y'alls opinions about this

the documentary actually went as far as to say he was the first casualty of the Cold War. I'm leaning towards believing it

Silence him from saying what? All they had to do was relieve him from command, if he became a greater embarrassment than he had already been. It's not like he had that big of a bully pulpit, until his movie came out in 1970. Or are you implying he took a deep dark secret to the grave that everyone else kept silent about afterwards?

What evidence was produced that led you to believe he was assassinated?

I never said I believed it. But, he seemed to be very opinionated about the Russians, and knew they would be our next enemy

Why do folks act like this was some wild belief in 1945? He had a big mouth but other than that, his opinions on the Soviets were shared well before and during WWII.

Would have been pointless to assassinate him as he has probably been reincarnated at least twice.

This is a great video breaking down the assassination theories. Dispels a lot of it.

This was brought up in Killing Patton by Bill OReilly. Most likely was just a regular car crash that killed him, but you never know.

Here in Military City USA there's a Bradley and an Eisenhower middle school, a MacArthur and a Lee high school. Hell, there's even a Churchill high school. But no school named for Patton?

Silence indeed.

There's been some compelling arguments that he was neglected pretty badly in the military hospital after the accident. Most similar patients would have survived his injuries w average care. Somehow he did not. Of course could've been simple bad luck but circumstances do look a bit suspect

In an automobile accident, Patton suffered a C3-C4 vertebral body dislocation and cervical spinal cord injury. Not sure that this was a survivable injury in 1945.

His driver made a sudden stop throwing him forward -per a book on Patton. A lady cousin committed suicide when she got word he had died!
