I recommend "A River in Darkness". It's one man's story of escaping NK to make it back to Japan but it covers a lot of the Japanese kidnapping of Koreans during ww2 for slave labor, and then the early NK era when lots of these now Japanese citizens (of Korean origin) were convinced to "return" to NK.
