I vaguely remember a few months ago someone mentioning a tank named "WE'VE NEVER BEEN LICKED" entering Tokyo.

Here's video of it:

Jump ahead to 0:30 to see it.

Great find. Though I await the armor nerd who will tell us what that is, as it obviously is not a tank.

Other than the movie of the same name, what links this tank to A&M?

Kind of ironic, if you've ever seen the movie.

If you haven't, turn down the volume, ignore the plot, and watch the 2-3 cool scenes of campus. Otherwise, it's a waste of time.

I'm a naval aviation nerd, not an armor guy!

Definitely a different reaction from the population versus what was seen in many parts of Europe.

I could have sworn (either on this forum, or maybe the Military forum), someone had mentioned seeing a picture of armor moving into Tokyo with "WE'VE NEVER BEEN LICKED" painted on it, and that the driver or crew was (an) Aggie (and may have mentioned the name). I found footage, and thought I'd share!

Do you think MacArthur's belt ever chafed his nipples?

Texas Aggies Go To War - Henry Dethloff

Quote:

On September 8, General MacArthur made his official entry into the city, escorted by a squadron of the 7th Cavalry and the 302nd Reconnaissance Troop commanded by Captain Don H. Walton '42. On the side of his scout car was emblazoned We've Never Been Licked; flying from his radio antennae was the Texas flag.
Any speculation if Walton was related to the Walton Hall Walton?

Also LtCol George Walton '71, was also one of the first over Iraq, flying an F-4 Wild Weasel during Desert Storm.
