A&M Fun Fact

I'm currently reading a book about the space race. The term "moonshot" came about in 1959 when LA Dodgers slugger Wally Moon was crushing multiple home runs that season. Dodgers announcer Vin Scully coined the phrase moonshot to refer to the runs. The phrase was later picked up by NASA to refer to the moon missions. Anyway, Wally Moon played baseball at A&M in the early '50s. He would eventually move back to Bryan where he died in 2018.

I have his baseball card from 1962,
he had a marvelous uni-brow.

Man, it was the uni-brows of all uni-brows. Truly impressive.

Wally Moon has been in the A&M Hall of Fame for over 50 years. He was a letterman in both baseball and basketball.

It feels strange to me that his name isn't instantly recognizable to the younger generations (of course, this is completely normal; I'm not disparaging said generations). Good to see his memory being kept alive!
