I work on campus and a prof I work with is retiring in May and starting to clean out his office. He's 80 years old. He came to A&M for grad school and never left.

He gave these 2 posters to a coworker of mine, but I got pictures at least. I'm class of '02, so these are before my time, but I thought y'all might like to see them.

Hottest damn dorm on campus. AY!*

And of course, F Y Puryear, followed by Eat S*** Law. Yell fights were fun back then.

*Law was one of 4 non-airconditioned dorms on campus, along with Puryear, Walton and Hart. (I lived 4 years in Law and one semester in Hart). We had fun with it. One of our T-shirts said, "Law Hall, Built By Man. Air conditioned by God." And another one had a mock "Frat" name on it: (Theta)AC (for "Not air conditioned.") Most of the frat guys didn't get the joke. But if frat guys knew math, they wouldn't pay for their friends.

I think they'd stopped making those by the time I was in school, but remember seeing one on the wall of the Northgate Cow Hop.

I always liked those kinds of maps when I found them for different cities. Wish I could find some for Houston.

This map is inaccurate.......no Coach's Liquor (an Aggie Tradition) at Southgate right close to Double Dave's.......I bought my first bottle of JD there in '84 and it was still there in '88 when I left!!

I posted a caricature map of the campus called "On a Clear Day You Can See Aggieland 1970". It was a pen and ink drawing on poster sized paper drawn by one of the co-owners of a small bookstore in North Gate. The original was donated to the University Archives at the library in order to save it for posterity. Lots of outstanding visual humor on that map, for example, Coach Stallings flying over Wast Gate Lounge draw with buzzard body and arrows labeled with other SW Conf schools, KK in helicopter dropping self adhesive parking tickets, Chemistry prof choking chicken to get more test questions, a Trigon Trotter bouncing along, etc etc etc.

I still have a brick somewhere in my garage from Law, Puryear and the Natatorium. I think Hart was probably the last air conditioned dorm on campus. It certainly didn't have it when I was there in the 94 range. Now they have big ole window units. Babies. I still wonder how many more years that dorm has left.

Assuming you mean the last non-air-conditioned dorm, then yes, it was, from 2000 (when Walton got A/C) to 2002.

They had T-shirts with the slogan "the only hot ones left".

I can't believe they are doing the "Kyle Field" yell in the first map. I knew it was resurrected when the Yell Leaders reintroduced it, but I thought it must had been from the 40's or something.
