Battle of Britain

One of the best war movies ever made.

Indeed. But also one of the best stories of WWII.

Funny enough I just saw there is a remake in the works? Anyone else see or hear anything? Looks like Ridley Scott to direct with a Debut sometime 2018

I've got that on DVD. Probably been ten years since I last watched it. I'm watching it tonight!

A tremendous cast in that film.

Any one have some book recommendations on this or related topics? I'm just realizing how little I know about the Western Theatre pre-1944.

Piece of Cake by Derek Robinson

I recommend this, highly (fiction, but based very heavily on history)

(btw, the title is quite ironic, given the attrition rate of the squadron depicted in the novel from pre-Dunkirk to the Battle of Britain)

Certainly no CGI in the original.

The film used The Narrow Margin by Wood and Dempster for much of its history. It's next on my list.

Duel of Eagles by Peter Townsend is also pretty good.

Battle of Britain would be a great addition with the movie Dunkirk
