Posted on this board 5 days ago - take a look just 6 or so threads down on this page . But I think you should post this link on the Politics board. It's perfect example of govt overreach and needs to be publicized.

There are lots of legitimate concerns about immigration, visitors overstaying visas, etc. But the low level apparatchiks that are on the front line of trying to enforce our legitimate laws/regulations vis a vis immigration and foreign visitors frequently overstep their bounds. This was a textbook example of that.

The recent fiasco with Muhammad Ali Jr and his mother, Muhammad Ali's ex-wife, being detained for two hours when returning from a short trip to Jamaica is another recent example.

Quote:

Muhammad Ali Jr., 44, and his mother, Khalilah Camacho-Ali, the first wife of Muhammad Ali, were arriving at the airport Feb. 7 after returning from speaking at a Black History Month event in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The Deerfield Beach residents were pulled aside while going through Customs because of their Arabic-sounding names, according to family friend and lawyer Chris Mancini.
What idiots wouldn't know who "Muhammad Ali" was?
