Pretty awesome!

My old dad had a Civil War historical marker placed in VanZandt Co a few years back. I love it.

Lie down on the couch and tell us why your daddy placed a Civil War instead of a Revolutionary War marker. Tell us how that made you feel?

My dad is from East Texas, but all his forbears are Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. Generations from before the Civil War were mostly NC and SC. The conversations at family reunions were priceless.

Found this while back-roading deep in Runnels County when I was in school at Angelo State

edit:
Pic didn't show up well..

The inscription reads:
W.H. Brown
Born in Georgia, with his parents came to Texas 1857. He and a brother, John, were Texas Rangers - W.H. "Billy" Serving June-December 1874.
Billy Brown was the last man killed by Indians in Runnels County, in a fight to regain stolen horses.
