There seems to be a real interest in Nixon right now. In particular, three biographies released in the last few years by fairly prominent authors. Has anyone here read them? I'd love to read one but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend one over the others. Which of them is the go-to book on Nixon?

I haven't read a Nixon biography in quite some time. The last presidential book I read was The President's Club. It told the story of the different relationships each president had with one another. Nixon was an an excellent ex-president who every president except Carter consulted with. I find the entire Watergate scandal fascinating but I would like to see more books praising Nixon's good qualities, especially in foreign policy. Looking back, I really see Nixon as one of our smartest, most capable executives. Too bad he was so insecure

I had to do a comparative study of his autobiography with a few biographies for my senior seminar with Dr. Brand. Nixon was fascinating and it would amazing to separate the man from the President because he was actually extremely effective but his weird victim-complex limited how great he really could have been.

I like Ambrose's 3-volume biography the most but it also caused me to have dreams about Nixon.
