I do this every year and this year I thought it may be fun to get some Texags people on board.

Usually its in April but this year with the work from home I pushed it back so I could just enjoy bad food and drinks while stuck at home.


Here is how it works:

One month. Perfect consumption. Not one bite. Not one sip.

These are the only rules:

  • no alcohol
  • no processed carbs (I include no potatoes in this as well)
  • no processed sugar (with very minimal fruit intake as well)
  • no fried food(processed carbs mostly rules this out anyway bc of batter)


Thats it. Since I like to start on a Monday the dates are May 4th - June 5th. That means you end on a Friday and can go nuts.


so not one chip. not one Cheez-it from your kids bag. Not one sip of beer.

I use this as a way to lean up for the summer months every year. I eat like this(not nearly as strict) most of the time during the week anyways. But passing up splurging on the weekends for a whole month usually has big results for me.

Saying "These are the only rules" in this context is akin to saying "Sure, it's a hole in your head, but it's only one hole in your head."

More power to those of you doing this. I'll keep my pasta a couple times a week and inordinate amount of fruit.

Idgaf about cinco de mayo chips but I didnt think about Memorial day...never done may before. not good!

I would consider it, but in the current circumstances having several cheat meals, the neighbor is constantly bringing over cookies, and we're mixing up drinks come 4:30 7 days a week.

The one thing that is helping me hold on is that I have a gym in my garage and we're working out every single day. I weigh the same, but there may be a little extra jiggle around the waist, I can't tell..

How's everyone holding up? Starting off on a weekend has actually been nice. The week days will seem like a breeze after this weekend.

did it in April this year. Last day today! Goes by quick.

191 down to 177 and I eat at least 2500 calories a day in Meat, veggies, nuts and eggs.

ready to eat a bunch of BS and have some beer tomorrow.

What the hell. I'll give it a shot in the name of getting more fit before the wedding in June. I was already intending to make May a sober month, so it's basically cutting out cheat meals.

Going to cheat on Memorial day though. We've already got a camping trip in VT planned with some friends.

it sounds crazy but if you know how to grill and cook in general you eat damn good the whole month. The hardest part is staying on top of cooking.

I eat a **** ton of eggs bc they are easy.

with a 1 year old and kid in tee ball, time is tough. so I will eat eggs a lot. probably average 2 dozen a week no lie.

as for the sweet tooth, I drink a smoothie every day that really curbs it.

frozen spinach
frozen raspberries
huge scoop peanut butter
vanilla whey
ground chia


really good and helps me and my big sweet tooth out.

Nice. It sounds like I'm already well set up for it. We've got one of those Mrs. Dash egg cookers, and we've always got half a dozen in the fridge ready to go. Smoothies are already daily breakfast.

I did just realize that for me, Diet Coke should probably be on this list. That'll be a tough one.
