I think it's genetics. You either got thick wrists/ankles or dainty ones

Yep, at both my fattest and my strongest...my wrists were always the same. Which is dainty...can't even wear many types of watches without it looking ridiculous.

I don't think there are any normal muscles in your actual wrists...just tendons. Think wrist size is dependent mainly on bone structure.

Forearms of course are different.

You won't really bulk up these area but for sure can build up strength and stability in the area.
