What's your goals and how much of all of this are you eating?

Seems lighter on protein than I aim for but who knows without answering the first 2 questions.

Cottage cheese....too young

You might be one of the four people who prefer almond butter over peanut butter, and if so, go on. If you're one of the billions who prefer peanut butter, it's worth the extra fat and calories.

Fourth meal should be Taco Bell #ad

For the chicken and veggies in meal five, get a big roasting pan and cook it all together. I eat a similar meal most evenings and recently changed to the roasting pan method. Upgrades the meal a bit.

(I at least got one serious one in there)

You asked for us to critique your diet. I did.

You didn't list any goals in your post, so hard to give much feedback.

I guess the OP and I make up 50% of the people who like almond butter?
RG20

I like both but Almond butter is better to me.

I don't see how you'd get anywhere near 250g protein unless the 2 chicken and beef servings were ~90g protein each. I'd up the fat and drop the carbs if you're trying to reduce BF.

Back in the 90s, Larry North had a life style change that still works for me to this day.

Simply put, 2000g max per day with only 25g of total fat.

On the 7th day, eat a meal of whatever you want, don't count calories or fat grams for that one particle meal.

I average losing about 2 Lbs/ week and the only exercise I was getting was a 15 min/mile walk or about 4 miles/day.

Life changer for me

Mostly ate veggies but on the 7th day, wings, ribs, or steak is the target......with blue bell ice cream afterwards.

That definitely sounds like a 90's diet.

Yup, definitely need more protein since you mentioned it. Why raise the fat though?

I'm 180lbs, my maintenance is 2700 calories, I don't want to go that low.
Seven Costanza

If your maintenance is 2700 and you're eating 2500, you will meet your goal of losing fat. You will eventually reach a weight where 2500 is the maintenance level. If you want to lose more fat at that point, lower your calorie intake again.

Approx. 4400 calories n a pound. If I normally burn 2000 calories per day with my slow metabolism and eat 2500, I will gain a lb every 9 days.

Over a yr, the body calories burn will change upward due to the weight increase but u will gain double digit weight.

Rule of thumb I used but u get the jest.

Exercise is extremely important but weight loss is more about lowering your intake than burning calories.

Some folks just need to put the fork down

Cut out soda pops can make a big difference.

Why did I always think it was 3500 calories in a pound??
RG20
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have no clue of what you are talking about. The whole point of my post was to look at my suggested foods in the diet and make recommendations to improve; not get into a lesson on calories.

My goal is FAT loss, not necessarily WEIGHT loss; so I don't want be in a huge caloric deficit.

My goodness

I don't know why I thought it was that high, sorry about that.

With that few calories in a pound (3500), would we agree that eating less is the primary key to a slimmer waistline?

I know, food is good and it is cheap but....self control is so important.
Seven Costanza

The foods that you are eating are fine. Unless you are on steroids, you will need to eat at a caloric deficit to lose fat. You will lose some muscle in this process, but can minimize it by lifting, eating plenty of protein (250g/day is not necessary), and not making the deficit too extreme.
