My 3 year old has the flu. On day 6. Mostly perked up but crashes in the evening as temperature spikes.

Somehow I have never had the flu in my life. Anyone else have experiences on how long it took young kiddos to bounce back?

5-7 days is typical. If not improving or persistent fever beyond 7 days needs to be re-evaluated for secondary bacterial infections specifically pneumonia.

Our 18 month old has just gotten over it. Symptoms lasted about 5 days. We are glad she got the vaccine because I believe it made symptoms a lot better than it could have been.

She didn't get any tamiflu we just kept a close eye on her and rotated Tylenol and Motrin.
