Searched for it and didn't see a topic on the race. Anyone running this weekend? I'll be there in a maroon singlet with "Gig'em ATX" on my bib. Never run the full here but it will be full # 14.

Running the half. Course has some hills, but it's a fun race!

Well, that was rough. Really wanted to finish in 5 hours, but finished just over.

Add that marathon to reasons I hate Austin. Woof. Done and finished but it was ugly.

I ran my first marathon in austin back in 2002

Of course, then it was a point to point marathon that was considered one of the fastest in USA since it was all downhill.

Havent run Austin since they changed to the loop course.

Haven't run the new course, but ran the downhill course and the most recent old course.

I love Austin, but the marathon isn't a fast course.

It's a tough marathon but a great half. Plus the price is more reasonable compared to other halfs, especially Houston.

I did that half last year and loved it.

Anyone know the Aggie's with the BTHO 26.2 sign? I think they were on Tillery.

No clue. Some of the Corps Marathon team, group, club, or whatever were out there so might have been connected there?

First Marathon, finished in 4:37.
Mile 21-26 were brutal.

My 14 year old, ran the last 5 with me, despite (we didn't know it at the time) a fever.

That was a tough, tough course

I cut my half-marathon teeth in Austin in 2008. I think that I've run it 3 or 4 times. It's definitely a challenge. Cowtown is my next running bucket list course, and then I will have run each of the "big" events in Texas. I think that if I ever do matriculate to a full-marathon, then I want to run it in Austin.

Houston is fast, flat course for full marathon... that's where I'd start my first marathon if limiting to Texas.
and better chance of cooler weather since it is in January.

The same people that put a massive hill at mile 12 of the half.
