Finally got a BQ time at Grandma's Marathon up in Duluth this morning. Pace dropped a little last 6 miles, but ended up 3:01. Next goal: sub 3.

I've done only a handful of marathons, but have nothing but complements for this one. Conditions were perfect (which 12 hours before the race it looked like thunderstorms). It was a very scenic course (would have been better if the fog lifted earlier), and the temps actually cooled during the race. And it's fast! My time was good for 190th in my AG (18-34). Never had a spot where I was running alone for more than 30 seconds or so. I highly recommend it.

Congrats! I'm glad you liked it here Up North.

I ran just the half and PR'ed by almost 6 minutes. Thankfully perfect weather conditions. This was the third Grandma's half I ran. Three years ago it was nearly identical conditions. Past two years were warm and sunny.

For those who would like a late Spring marathon/half option I would look here. Just be sure to find hotels quickly.
