Anyone done an egg fast on the keto diet?

If yes, how did you go about it? Have any good recipes? Did you see results?

I'm thinking about a 5 day fast. Minimum of 6 eggs a day, and I need to find the amount of fat I'm supposed to also consume.

Just try a regular 24 hr fast. Or throw in some intermittent fasting.

I already do intermittent fasting.

I might do the three day version. This isn't a crazy thing, either. Pro athletes do this all the time. I learned about it from a military friend who said they did it at times as well.

I know a lot of nutritional idiots in the military and not even going to explain the intelligence of professional athletes (cough Vince Young). This is akin to the potato diet. People overthink nutrition with what information is available.

I've actually been toying with this idea a bit. I eat a lot of eggs and do intermittent fasting anyways. Sometimes I'll break my fast with eggs and then not be hungry, but I'll eat some frutis and veggies anyways.

It's just for a couple days, can't hurt. Although I'll be putting salsa on my eggs. Can't really do plain eggs everyday. May use it as a segway into a multiday fast. We'll see.

Although I don't really see any advantage to doing this over doing just regular keto and cutting back calories. Or if you're in a rut, just come out of keto and let your body's metabolism recover a little bit.

No.

I went keto in January eating nothing but protein and fat. Lots of eggs/bacon/butter. Went into it with an analytical mind and had full blood chemistry workup before and four months in.

My total cholesterol dropped to the lowest in my adult life. 170. HDL up. LDL down. Triglycerides down.

Blood pressure down. Weight down.

Eat all the eggs you want. Refined sugar is the enemy.

Yes. Sugar is so bad. It sucks how prevalent it is and how tough it is to eliminate. I don't have a sweet tooth, so I have no trouble staying away from candy or desserts, but my weakness is dr. pepper. And then it's in a million other things we don't even think of as sweet too. Freaking American diet.

I know sugar is definitely the enemy, but are you saying that in relation to cholesterol too?

For most people, there is not a strong link between dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol.

Dietary cholesterol isn't linked to your cholesterol. The health industry, doctors, and everyone else was wrong for 50 years.

Don't eat sugar. Pretty much the cause of everything ailing Americans today.

I understand. I was just wondering if he meant that sugar has an effect on cholesterol as well, as I had never heard that.
