How long do you want to ignore this user?

I'm headed out next week for a 4 day Grand Canyon hike and I'd like to track our progress on my Garmin. Obviously the battery would die if I tracked all 4 days. But isn't there a mode where it only pings the satellite every so often? Maybe this is a Feniz feature and not a 920XT feature?

What about a portable power bank to charge the watch nightly while you sleep?

On the Fenix, it's called "Ultratrac", but I'm not sure if the 920xt has it or not.

Edit: Nevermind... https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/forerunner920XT/EN-US/GUID-01F41A53-9B56-433B-846E-C6F5A6D4660F.html

Ultratrac is inaccurate as hell. It WAY overestimated mileage.

This is the better option. I have a solar powered inflatable light that also has a usb port to charge electronics.

I'd just get a power bank like was mentioned. I have a couple from Anker that work well and you wouldn't need anything huge for a couple overnight charges

It's very useful for backpacking and fairly inexpensive.

Thanks for the help. I just recharged the watch at night using an Anker battery. It did great and didn't weigh a ton.
