The tour was today but I've only been biking a month. Longest ride I've done is about 15 miles so far. Is it reasonable to think I can train up to 34 or 50 miles in 1 years time? I'm on a mountain bike btw, so it will definitely be harder. I'm at about 30-40 miles per week right now so I imagine the first thing to change will be slicks vs the knobbies on there now.

You could do 34 next week if you are doing 15 now. If you train for a year, you could easily do the MS150 next year. There are plenty of people that ride the ms150 each year in April, and then put their bike away until February or even March of the next year before starting to train again. If you want to do it right, ride multiple times a week, and increase your long ride by about 10-15% each week.

Easy to stretch the distance on the bike.
