Was a spectator of the race while hiking the Trail of Mont Blanc. Amazing race involving 171 km, 10,300 m ascents over steep, rough rocky terrain. Some of these runners looked like Zombies in a movie.
The trek alone, walking was a challenge much less a cope titmice run.

its a tough race. didn't know anyone running this year, but had three different friends running it last year.

We had a woman from our running club who ran it this year. She ran an awesome race and finished top 3 in the 60+ female age group. We also had a girl who was on the crew for one of the elite guys. I'm looking forward to catching up with them over the next few weeks and hearing about their experiences at the race. I'd love to make the trip and run the race someday, but that would be an extremely challenging course.

There were over 2k runners. Did not realize how big it was. The trek alone wad a challenge over 11 days much less doing it in 24 hours.
