Western States is this weekend. The run starts Saturday morning at 5am PDT. The iRunFar website will have pretty good live coverage. Also Andy Jones-Wilkins is a good Twitter follow for live updates.
The #1 story, IMO, is Jim Walmsley's redemption after going off course at mile 93 last year while he was on pace to crush the course record. Story #2 is how stacked the Women's field is going to be.
If you're looking for some good WS-related content leading up to the race, here's an interview of Walmsley from last night:
Also, one up-and-coming runner this year is Chris Mocko. He started a pretty hilarious youtube channel while he was building up mileage for WS. Check out his Mocko Show Youtube Channel and start with his "Hell Week #1" video and work your way through. It's pretty entertaining.
My wife and I will be volunteering at the Foresthill aid station (mile 62) all day, then packing up and heading to the finish line. I'll try to get some good pics of the race and report back here when I can.
