Against my better judgement, I have accepted my brother's challenge. Marble Falls Sprint Tri on 7/16. I am on a red-eye from PDX the night before and I literally have not ridden a bike or swam since 11/7/2015 (IMFL)... but surely I can still survive 500/12/2.

Anyone else racing?

If I challenge Scriffer and he does not show up, does it count as a victory?

no way in hell i'd race in the middle of july.

i briefly thought about it last year. then race day rolled around and i was so happy i skipped it. I think it was over 100 degrees and humid as hell on race day.

We are still having days in the high 40s low 50s... I'll certainly be unfomfortable. Assuming I survive.

I thought about finding a race on her due date to all but ensure he doesn't show up - and therefore I finally win.

Hate to derail, but what's a good first sprint triathlon for next year. Wife and I were eyeing the aggieland tri but July in CS doesn't sound fun.

yes. May as well be as I am probably in worse endurance shape than back in '08 when sr gomez used to make fun of me.

Aggieland Tri is an excellent one for a first timer.

I am not racing the Marble Falls one, but I might drive out and watch.

Tri Aggieland is GREAT! I did it the last 2 years. I suppose it's warm but it's pretty short and not unreasonably hot. They've had kids who will spray you with water under the wellborne bridge.

you could have listened to me.

he tried to bail before I even took off from Oregon.. but I called him a putz and made him pack the bikes. flight delay and no sleep on the red eye didn't help... then he has the audacity to pick me up from the airport in a car with no AC. doesn't he know I pretty much turned into a princess??
