Looking for a late sprint or summer trail race that is:
- 20 to 30 miles;
- isn't extremely rugged;
- starts in the morning (not 7pm or 10pm);
- a 3 hour time limit race works.

Any ideas / suggestions?

Thanks!

Tejas trail fest June 3 at Krause springs? Marathon distance is an option.

If you're interested in a 100 miler with 33k ft of climbing here you go.

Looks like they have some cool shorter races (50k, marathon) in Silverton as well.

as for your original question, racing long at the time of year in texas sounds miserable. My last long race until fall is in two weeks, and I'm already starting to dread that.

you could also look at Pandora's Box of Rox or Texas Switchbacks. Both have marathon distances. The latter is on a nice property, with some great sections of running, but it gets hot and humid out there. The former is at Reveille Peak and had some technical sections, so might not truly meet your criteria.

Rogue's 30k trail series runs March, April, May. You could run an extra 10k lap after you finish.

They're well organized and local around Austin at some quality venues. Starts this weekend at Walnut Creek Park in North Austin.

Check out Trail Racing Over Texas! This company puts on races all over the state and keep it affordable. Rob, the RD, is awesome and caters to every runner. The new runners and the mighty elite, and everything in between.

They have a few races in May and a bunch in Aug/ SEP!

Including the first ever mountain race in Texas!
