I have had 3 BMW in a row and looking to buy something in the fall of 23.

Kia SUV looks good, I love the Jeeps but heard they are a piece of @#$#@, Lexus I like but heard they are basically the Toyota.

what hits the sweet spot in coupes/small SUV?

nice call!

ironically, when I was living overseas in Israel in 2019-2020 I bought a Mazda CX-3 as everything they have is very small compared to the USA. it was a nice car to drive, but had several mechanical issues.

whether that was because of Mazda, or because the Israelis don't know how to correctly do many things I don't know..

is the maintenance standard very good on a Mazda?

I want to be able to own it for several years and possibly ship it overseas.

I am single without kids so the 9 is too large, maybe the 5 series?

My wife has been looking at them, because she's heard good things and likes the way they look. I've always heard good things as well...but outside of that, Im not much help.

He didn't say he wanted reliable. He said stylish, fun, safe, and easy to work on. Toyotas aren't crushing it in most of those categories.

Dodge Hornet would probably check those boxes in short order. Now, it's gonna basically be an Alfa Romeo (right down to being built in Italy I think), depending on the Dodge dealer network for support, so…yeah, good thing 'reliability' isn't a metric but it should be stylish/fun, imho.

Quote:

A 265-hp turbocharged four-cylinder with all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic is the standard setup but the R/T model is a plug-in hybrid with 285 ponies and more than 30 miles of electric driving. Not only will the Hornet offer Dodge's first hybrid powertrain it'll also boast the most high-tech equipment in the brand's lineup, with standard features that include a digital gauge display, Uconnect 5 infotainment software, and automated emergency braking with pedestrian-and-cyclist detection. The nonhybrid GT models are expected to go on sale by the end of 2022 with the R/T PHEV models following shortly after in early 2023.

I've posted this elsewhere but the next/new Mazda's next year will have longitudinal I-6 (2 and 3 row), with a RWD chassis (in AWD). CX-70 and -90 I think. The ones in Europe are a little narrower, and reviews are out on those. I'd be hesitant on the current ones as the next ones will be a lot better, imho, but you have to wait 6+ months so not really by the OP's criteria…

Actually, he said "easily maintained," which doesn't mean "easy to work on." Outside of oil changes and such, almost no one works on their own vehicle these days due to lack of tools, knowledge, etc.. "Easily maintained" can reasonably be interpreted to mean reliable. Describe examples of late model unreliable vehicles that are "easily maintained."

I just got a Mazda3 Hatchback Turbo and love it. It is the perfect size for running the kids to school and picking up groceries. The turbo gives it enough power to make it fun to drive, and there are a few aftermarket parts if you want to add on to it.

I actually like the "look" of that vehicle but have been hesitant to go from BMWs to Kias

how is the maintenance, driving experience, and longevity of a Kia?
