Was given a mower today that has a couple of holes in the deck. What is the most cost effective way to patch these? Don't care about the cosmetic appearance. Just don't want something to come flying up through the hole. Won't let me post a photo but it's about a half dollar size near the rear discharge.

Just throw some JB Weld on it. Maybe sand around it a little to promote adhesion or some chicken wire behind it if the hole's too big

Rusted through or did something fall off it? They sprayer holes for blade/deck wash down? Two fender washers and a bolt and nylon locknut might work.

Thin sheet metal, a rubber mallet, and some rivets are likely better than JB Weld and almost as cheap.

Looks like it just rusted through.
