Why is the 16 year old getting the El Accordo instead of the Leaf?

Ridgeline is AWD and a bit safer driving position. Plus it is an 08 with 140k miles so it is in the wheelhouse of low value/high reliability.

After putting $100/month of gas in it, he may want to switch though. All good, they are interchangeable in my house.

If you can't find an Aztec, I did see a Mitsubishi Eclipse cross the other day and mistook it for an Aztec in really good condition:

I remember hating the Aztek on release - aesthetically anyway. Back in 2000/2001 I was working on a plant startup in North Carolina and traveling to RDU for 12 days, flying back every other weekend. I'd get a new rental car occasionally (I'd keep them a month or two, leaving parked at airport, but change out once in a while) and one time was offered an Aztek and laughingly rejected it. I remember I had a Mitsubishi Diamante for a few months, and I still use that car name in fake big-timing jokes because it just sounds so great when you say it. Anyway, I was later offered an Aztek a second time and I said you know what, **** it, better to experience it then blindly hate it. Because I have ZERO Mookie confidence it was very important to me to stick the rental paperwork folder, or paperwork, or something indicating this was an Avis vehicle into both rear side windows so complete strangers would know me, a person they cared zero about, did not actually buy an Aztek. That's why I want the Mookie drug.

If the Chinese batteries go bad, you're screwed. They can't replace them in the older leafs I believe. That's why they're So cheap. It's a gamble.

So long ago I can't remember enough to give a detailed review. But I can confirm it didn't look any better up close,from afar, from any angle. It was a design mistake all around. Inside was spacious and functional, with some unique features. It drove very blandly, just like a cheap high volume rental car. No pep, clunky suspension, just dead in that regard.

I can see what they were trying to do - multi functional utility type vehicle that drove like a car - but just tried to do too much and the aesthetics killed it.

I do remember wanting to get rid of it as quickly as possible.
