How long do you want to ignore this user?
My wife's 2015 Navigator with ecoboost with 90k miles has code P0087 which is low fuel rail pressure

It shudders when accelerating

I have read that it is possible to be a clogged fuel filter. Would it be worth it to change the fuel filter as a first step to cure the problem? My understanding is that gas engines don't typically need a new fuel filter.

Then I read this in the owners manual

FUEL FILTER Your vehicle is equipped with a lifetime fuel filter that is integrated with the fuel tank. Regular maintenance or replacement is not needed.

AG
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Fuel pressure sensor/regulator

are three common failure points. Does it only happen under heavy acceleration? Sounds like the pump to me

I shudders bad when you put your foot in it

You can lightly accelerate to gain speed

Most likely the FRP sensor.

Need to do pinpoint diagnostics.

You should be under Powertrain warranty still, no?
