Just get a corolla and be done.

No on malibu or impala as well.

Okay, I have a 2012 Cruze that I bought about a year ago. It is a competent commuter. Like anything else, it is a matter of cost/benefit. I got it dirt cheap, it was a one-owner / non rental unit. I would have loved a Toyota but a comparable corolla with similar miles would have been 2.5 times the price and out of my range.

Cruze works for my modest needs. But I would only buy one for very cheap.

That's why I come here. It gets good reviews with Car and Driver, but Texags Knows Stuff.
