Volkswagen GTI? You should be able to get a new one for close to 25 and there are plenty of lightly used models within your budget.

You should be able to get a new or slightly used Buick Regal Turbo for that money

I bought a 2012 Elantra brand new back in Summer 2011 and have been driving it 99% of the time to and from work only. I maybe put 45 miles on it per day. Finally hit 90K miles a couple of months ago.

Aside from regular maintenance and the standard replacements (tires, etc.), it has been the perfect daily commuter car for me. 35+ mpg, A/C runs cold, etc.

its lower on the list, but would be nice to get 25+ mpg

Unless you need 4 doors (which you didnt specify), why not a C5Z06 or a base C6. In your price range and the C5Z gets 25+. Not sure on the C6, but should be comparable.

Are you willing to live with something that might occasionally catch on fire all by itself? If so I know a certain brand of truck that fits the bill.

2012 Toyota Avalon Limited.

It's plush, quiet and has reclining back seats.

0-60 in 6 seconds.

Considering it was probably owned by your grandma, the car never did 0 to 60 in 6 seconds.

Probably only has 30,000 miles and had 15 oil changes.

Garage kept for sure.

Driver seat extends..

Put some wheels on it and people have no idea what kind of car it is.

Will get 33mpg if you go 60mph.

Has all the Lexus features at used Toyota price.

Pretty easy to Diy except the 6th spark plug.

It's smooth and glides but not like the 70s Lincoln.

Will probably last beyond 300,000 miles.

Always gets a second look from them blue haired old ladies.

12 was the last large sedan.

Most of your buddies will fight to sit in the back when they realize it has reclining backseat and legroom.

And you should be able to find one for around $15,000.
