2010 Fusion SEL 3.0L V6 w/ 100k miles (dual zone AC)

I have an issue where my AC doesn't blow cold in the center stack (and possibly the passenger side), but does from the drivers side vent. Additionally, this past winter I noticed my HVAC unit started hissing a lot which may or may not be related. Could this be the blend door actuator or something else?

Yes I do, the second zone wasn't on/enabled when I noticed during the drive home the other day.

When set high, it blew hot as expected. When set low/max, it didn't get as cold as the driver side. Seems like the blend door isn't fully transitioning.

Do you know what the part number is for the passenger side blend door actuator? Rockauto has Motorcraft AE5Z19E616B (YH1886) and AE5Z19E616A (YH1885). Based on the Ford Part website, I guess I'm getting confused between 19E616B on left and 19E616A on right on the diagram.

These are the numbers I found on the part without actually pulling it - 52425002/A3500323A/35446377 (on the sticker), PP-GF30 (cast into plastic).

YH1886 is the mode door I think.

YH1885 is the blend door and should be left/right interchangeable according to RockAuto.

Any suggestions on removing this booger without taking the dash apart? My 5.5mm socket is too tall to get a ratchet in behind it.

Good news is there may only be one screw I have to get to above the barcode.

Take the cabin filter lid out and that should give you the access.

Oh definitely did that (and changed my cabin air filter at the same time).
With the socket and ratchet,it's about 1.5" wide. Any suggestions for short sockets or other methods?

shallow socket and maybe a flexible extension?

I think the one I bought was from a specialized tool place in Houston.

Google shallow 5.5mm and see what comes up.

Blend door actuator replaced on passenger side, but symptoms still exist. Manually rotated the door and still had the issue. Also attempted manually on the passenger side mode door without any success. I'm lost at what it could be unless something broke or got wedged in the ducts.

edit: might be an overall issue - when compressor is on, there's a noticeable hissing sound.

Hi, were you able to figure this out?

Definitely had a leak somewhere, but not fixed. I think my clutch is failing on my compressor as it whines like crazy, so that will be my next steps.
