Jeeps are popular and great off road, but some of us have to be different. Not a Jeep thread for the rest of us:

My 2000 Xterra 4x4 XE. I call it "The Falcon". She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts.

Yeah, that's a blistering 170HP 200Ft/Lb torque 3.3L V6. Actually, it might be pushing w whopping 180HP with a few mods I have done. 225,000 miles and still runs great. 5 speed manual.

Current Mods and setup:

2" Body lift
1.5" suspension lift with extended shackles and upgraded upper control arms
Bilstein 4600 shocks
Cregar SoftD 15x8 steel rims
Maxxis Buckshot II 32x11.5" tires
Shrockworks Transmission, Front Diff and Engine,Transmission Skid plate set
Custom DOM Tube and Square pipe slider/steps I made
Custom Front pipe and DOM tube bumper I made
Custom rear bumper with swingout spare tire carrier I made.
Some kid of affordable Harbor Freight 9000lb winch
Intake resonator delete and modification
Doug Thorley Exhaust headers.
Complete Cat system replacement with custom exhaust setup I pieced together
Flowmaster high flow cats
Gibson high flow exhaust (that sounds much cooler than factory)
Warn manual front hubs
Lokka front auto-locking differential (Aussies make it, use it on D22 Navaras)
Rear LSD with 125Ft/lb clutch pack (the 2002-2004 have 45lb..wah wah waaaah..)
Roof Rack basket I built to sit inside the factory roof rack main rails.
Overhead and rear LED off road lights.

I bought it to be a cheap but still fun to drive 4x4 that could get me across the sand at the beach to launch kayaks. Then it became a daily driver for a while, then a hobby and project car. It's been to Durango, Tennessee, Big Bend, and lots of other places to do a little off road driving.

I like Jeeps, and might get one some day, but right now, my project Xterra is plenty fun.

What else do you guys drive around off road that's "not a Jeep Wrangler".

Eventually I'd like to go up a few inches, add some rock sliders, skid plates, and camper shell but for the time being available funds will be pointed at my Jeep.

Sorry for the crappy pictures but the weather recently has been just that.

Do two wheels count?

'77 Honda Trail90 with only 700 miles on it.

Eventually I would like to build out an FJ80 with a custom bumper to mount this on. I had the option of buying a '96 with 280K from my FIL but ended up letting a friend get it as a daily. I'm hoping to buy it from him once he gets tired of it.

I also have a KX60 that is a blast to rip around on. I'm 180 and it will go 50 with me on it no problem. Hope to eventually teach my kids to ride on this bike.

Don't post much and never post pictures so here goes! Sorry had to edit it to get the pictures to work, cant figure out how to rotate the pictures so turn your head!

1967 Bronco I bought this back in 1995 and have been through quite a few modifications with it over the years.

Here is how it stands today:

Full roll cage
Bluetooth stereo
Corbeau Seats
Custom front and rear bumper built by me
Full width axles out of a 79 Bronco with a Detroit locker in the rear and open in the front
Custom Driveshafts
ZF 5 speed Transmission
Dana 20 transfer case (stock)
Heavy duty dom steering draglink with Chevy 1 ton tierods
Steering box out of a 79 Bronco with internals from an 88 Truck (4x4x2 Steering Box)
Cummins 4BT with an aftercooler
Hydroboost brakes from an Astrovan

Plus way more that I am missing to list..........

Mods in the works are 37" tires that I have sitting in my shop, need to find some 17" beadlocks to mount them on. Also need to get a new soft top since I am taking it to Colorado this summer with the kids.

95 Bronco - bought in Baton Rouge and towed my GTO back to central Texas.

The good: it was cheap with 130k miles.

The bad: Exterior trim was painted safety orange, the factory black paint was roached, and the interior was basically gutted. It had crazy exhaust and vac leaks, a clogged radiator, oil leaks everywhere, no cats, and turndowns under the driver's seat. All of the body mount plugs were missing so I got an awesome dose of exhaust in the cab while driving. Also the PSOM was miscalibrated due to the large tires and gears so the shift points were ridiculous.

Fairly stock resealed 351W w/shorty headers
OE replacement exhaust
Tru-trac in the rear with 4.88s all around
6" lift on 35s
03 Cobra seats w/expedition console (converting the interior to black)
Cheap HF winch (saved me a few times)
Steering box/wheel from a 2004 Excursion
Terrible one piece projector headlights that were on it when purchased
POR15'd all the floor pans and installed peal and seal on the interior with additional foil backed denim insulation
Painted with blue Raptor liner
Custom "pre-runner" style rear bumper that I copied from a Raptor

Day 1

Got stuck and broke the rear tube bumper with 300lbs of corn on it

Pretty. I still haven't quite forgiven my mom for selling their early 90's 4.9L 4x4 Bronco in superb condition for VERY VERY cheap about 15 years ago without asking me or any of my siblings if we were interested. I'd have paid them more if they wanted. They could have gotten triple what they asked. Oh well, hopefully some highschool kid got his dream 4x4 back then.
