I have a Craftsman snowblower (4 cycle I believe - has separate gas and oil reservoirs).

In any case, the gas wasn't drained or stabilized last spring. So it has been sitting in a climate-controlled garage for about 9 months unused.

Should I just siphon out as much of the old gas as possible, refill with fresh gas, and give it a go? What do y'all recommend (besides always draining or stabilizing before summer...)

Yes I would do that for sure, without trying to start it with the old gas.

That's what I do. I typically use the old gas on the driveway to clean up oil and grease stains (it will flash off). Fill some fresh gas, maybe a higher octane. Never have an issue.

Thanks for the replies. I'll plan on to drain and refill with fresh, hopefully no issues.

I always use higher octane in this engine. The guy I bought it from & the owners manual both suggest it. I only use like 2 gallons per year at most, so its not a big deal.
