2015 XLT Sport 4x2 2.7L Boost, about to roll over 50K miles.

My average is 19mpg, with most of my mileage coming in Houston stop and go traffic. If the dang engine wasn't so fun to run I could do better.

Long road trips I usually average 21 mpg with cruise set at 75-80.

I wonder if the King Ranch is heavier? And that's why the mileage is so terrible? Or is there that much variation coming off the assembly line? I've got 250 miles on this truck since I picked it up on Wednesday, and I'm averaging 15.2 miles per gallon on the computer. That's probably 75% highway driving on FM roads and highways.

I'm going to go with the V8.

I just picked up a 2018 XLT 4x2 2.7L Boost several weeks ago. My first tank was stop and go traffic in NW SA. I averaged 19.6 mpg on the computer.

Got a SCT Tuner with custom Five Star tunes and it made a WORLD of difference. Highly recommend everyone doing that to their f150. Huge HP and MPG gains.

It'll get better in a couple thousand miles. Also depends on if you accelerate smoothly or romp on it.

Cost for both? Your favorite tune? I'm looking for something like a combination of sport mode and normal. I want it to take off and shift like sport, but then shift up and coast off the throttle.

Wow in reading these post it's not worth buying an eco boost to me. V8 all the way.

FWIW I drive a 2014 f150 Raptor and get 14 on the highway all day cruising slowly at 75.

Had a 2014 3.5 boost with 3.55. Average 15.3mpg.
Now have a 2016 5.0 with 3.55. Average 17.9mpg

My dad has a 2012 3.5 boost with 3.55 longbed and gets 19mpg.

All are SuperCrew. And 4x4

I have a '16 screw boost King Ranch 4x4. I let my 36 gallon fuel tank fool me into thinking I get great mileage since I don't fill up often with my short daily commute. I came from a '07 crew cab duramax 4x4 and my mileage is only marginally better around town and the same on the highway.

Yep. Should have reset the computer first. Or done it the old fashioned way and done it by hand. Biggest issue are your tires. My 2013 4x4 boost with stock tires, (275/55/20) I ran between 17-18 avg. Getting 19-20 on the hwy if driving moderately was easy to achieve.

Then I bumped to a 275/65/20 and mileage went south in a hurry. I track all my mileage by hand. Been doing it for years now, and I average now roughly 14-15 combined. 16+ if I baby it.
Nobody cares. Work Harder

Lifts, tire size and type, body add-ons that substantially alter weight and aerodynamics, and your driving style can all substantially alter mileage.

I've got a 15 F-150 w/ the 3.5 - no turbo.

I average 17-19 in almost all city driving.

2016 Platinum SCrew 4x4 6.5' bed - 3.5L Boost 3.55 gears
2 adults, 2 kids plus luggage in the bed

Drove The Woodlands->Embassy Suites San Antonio->The Woodlands->New Braunfels on one 36 gallon tank. Fill up in NB was 31.1 gallons. I forget how many miles but it was over 600.

Not complaining.

Do you ever miss the V8 power or is the standard 3.5 sufficient?
