Is on a 26' box truck.
75% of the time there is a message on the dash, no light
20% of the time no message
2% of the time amber triangle warning

How or when should i be concerned?

Should be done every oil change. Cheap insurance.

For something as important as this, surprised there was NO reference to it in the operators manual. Drained the filter for a bit, and have logged 250 miles on it today so far with no more messages/warnings. Thanks!

As you might have guessed, I don't hav a lot of diesel time.

What is an "allison diesel"?

Allison Transmission maybe.

But if you look in the owners manual, particularly the diesel supplement, I'm sure you'll find something in there about it.

Ya it's a cat diesel. Was in the transmission manual. No engine manual that I could find. It's a rental. I'm at Point B now so all is well.

didn't want to have to swap to a different truck on my 2500 mile trip if it broke. Beyond that I could care less.
