I had a '66 with the 200CI and a 3spd on the floor. Just about any time I was cruising along with a first-time passenger they would ask why I hadn't shifted into 4th.

I would if i could!

Story I heard was this one is a pre-production model with hand fitted panels, welded by hand, etc.

Was officially a 1965 model. Wasn't until they went to production that they decided to call it a '64 1/2

0001 was a convertible. This is the first hard top.

The 1965 Mustangs were released fast and early, and included a mid-year change.

Units before that change were retroactively, but unofficially, known as '64.5
