Which vehicle is more off-road capable?

I have a 2012 4x4 Tundra and my wife has a 2014 4x4 4Runner. Neither are the TRD or Trail packages, but just getting back from Colorado, which was annoyingly warm, I found the 4Runner to be a little more capable than my Tundra which we took last Spring Break.

Is it fair the say the 4Runner with the terrain selector/incline selector is more capable than my Tundra?

The 4 Runner has shorter wheelbase and less width which makes it easier to navigate trails. Pickups are utilitarian but designed for towing and hauling bulky cargo. The most capable vehicle is probably a two-door Jeep and a 4Runner is closer to that design than a pickup.

Probably more accurate to say it's more capable regardless of the terrain/incline selector
