I recently sold my dad my 09 Silverado, and he told me today that the dome light isn't coming on automatically when he unlocks the doors and/or opens the doors, but they can still be toggled manually. I feel like this is an easy fix, I'm just not sure what it would be. Any ideas?

Did he accidentally punch the override button?
I'm ashamed to say I drove that truck for 160k miles and I had no idea there was an override button. Where is it?
On the old ones, it is on the same little panel as the headlight switch and the instrument panel brightness control.
Dome Lamp Override
The dome lamp override button is located next to the
exterior lamps control.
Press the button in and the dome
lamps remain off when a door is opened. Press the
button again to return it to the extended position so that
the dome lamps come on when a door is opened.

Ok cool, I'll check it out and seer if that's all it was. Might be an even easier fix than I thought haha
This is awesome bc I was having the same problem as well, just didn't post. I'm blaming my toddler for pushing it. Now can y'all help with the rattle from pennies being shoved into an ac vent?
