Can I blame my dad? Couldn't ask for much better, but I didn't grow up hunting or driving a manual.

I know I am getting old because I actually prefer the Auto in our LJ. I could kid myself and say it will be better suited for Rock Crawling, but in reality it is just easier for beach cruising. Plus my wife can drive it...

Congrats on the new ride. Your list looks eerily similar to where I am sitting on our Jeep now. Don't ever put the $ value with each item on the list as it gets more depressing. Just take pictures of the smiles as you enjoy the time behind the wheel.

Do the lift and tires first. Easily the biggest impact on how it looks and how it wheels. the best Jeep wave is out of the opening where normal people have doors.

While too late now, but a Jeep is the easiest vehicle to learn to drive a stick. It is very forgiving and has the hill brake assist (the brakes automatically engage when your facing uphill so that it is easier to start moving forward).
